Roberto on Mountaineering and winemaking [Video]
Life is truly intriguing. I have been dedicated to winemaking for 35 years, but my journey began in the mountains.
At the age of twenty, I aspired to pursue a profound passion for rock climbing, mountaineering in general, and even skiing. I must confess that it served as an invaluable school for me. It compels you to observe, to grasp the intricacies of what happens around you.
These are crucial elements for life, for saving your own life on the wall. And today, while wine is indeed my greatest passion it is also true that it reconnects with the mountains.
Because now, more than ever, I am drawn to the concept of extreme wine, pushed to the limits, mountain wine, in which the vine, through greater struggle finds expressiveness in both the grape and the wine in unique and unprecedented ways.
