Visionary winemaking in heroic conditions

Dear friends,

I have had the honor to make wine in many countries around the world, although most people know me for my work in Italy with my Brunello di Montalcino and my work in Argentina with Malbec.

My passion is to find environments in which the noble vines can produce exquisite wines of terroir. Often, this requires viticulture in extreme conditions so that the vines must struggle to put forth only their finest fruit.

No place on earth has the same promise of greatness for Pinot Noir than I found on California's Central Coast.

It has been my great pleasure to come to intimately know this place over the last several years, to select the most interesting sites, to embrace the finest growers and together nurture the grapes that will offer you a drinkable connection from this marvelous place - our message in a bottle.

Wine is an experience worth sharing, and I look forward to sharing these with you.
